EZAI Fundazioa

History and Objectives

EZAI Foundation is a research institute that was set up in 1998 by MONDRAGON Corporation and MONDRAGON UNIVERSITY, with the aim of promoting and spreading the knowledge regarding public policies; mainly, and in a general level, in the area of economic policies and, also in all the polices related to co-operatives or Social Economy.

The main objectives of the EZAI Foundation are:

a) To carry out research and development projects related to public policies, together with companies, universities and research centres.

b) To channel or direct the training of researchers as well as to doctorate as post-doctorate level and to help in the technical staff and professionals’ knowledge level update and improve IN the mentioned field.

c) To organize courses, meetings, seminars, conferences, etc. and help in the expansion of research, knowledge and scientific and technical progress.

d) To provide any kind of service related to public policies.

e) To promote public and private institutions efficiency in the public subjects management and in the collaboration between this both fields, with especial attention to the role of Co-operatives and Social Economy and economic policies in general.

Who Receives its Services

The usual recipients of EZAI’s services are bodies interested in promoting the different activities and projects carried out by EZAI:

• Public bodies: European, Spanish and Basque government.
• Private bodies: European, Spanish and Basque trade associations interested in cooperative issues, such as European Association of Co-operative Groups (ECG), Spanish Business Confederation for the Social Economy (CEPES), Basque Confederation of Co-operatives (CCE), MCC, etc.

Working Groups

On the basis of each research project, different work groups are set up, with national and foreign members, usually with the following structure:

• Project leader: an expert in the field.
• Advisors: university lecturers and external consultants.
• Project worker: degree holders.
